4TH OF JULY

American Independence Day

equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable
Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, (...)
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends,
it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it."

The short excerpt above is probably the most famous quote from the Declaration of Independence, one of the most important documents in the history of the United States of America. Before being duly signed by the Congress in 1776, much debate was carried out concerning the imminent separation of the United Colonies from the hands of Great Britain, especially after the events of the American Revolutionary War. The statement written primarily by Thomas Jefferson was thought as the official document stating the reasons why the United Colonies should be a colony of Great Britain no more, thus being able to properly lead the separation between both.

There are a few controversies as to the correct American independence day, however. It is said that the resolution of independence came on the second of July, but its approval by the Congress was made two days later, thus accounting for the fourth of july to be deemed the Independence Day. Be it as it may, the fact which remains unaltered is that the Independence Day is one of the major holidays in America, a day for celebration, parades, fairs, picnics and whatever comes in the minds of Americans nationwide.

The Fourth of July is considered by many as the most patriotic day of the year, a day in which people show their pride for their country in every way they can think of, whether it is hoisting flags or simply displaying fireworks across the sky, in a blue panel decorated by mesmerizing 50 stars.
